Here it begins.

Ladies and gentlemen, the hiatus is officialy over.

Now I gotta add, due to a daily comic really messing up some things for me concerning school I've decided to stop making this comic a daily one for the time being; I expect to upload it roughly biweekly, as long as you check the RSS feed you should be able to see when a new page is up.

As I've mentioned in previous journals, I've worked quite a bit on trying to improve the comic as much as possible while I was taking a "break" and this page is the first example of the new format.

I don't think I have to point out in what ways the format changed, as the image should speak for itself, either way, I hope everyone likes the quality upgrade, cause I'm pretty proud with what I have so far.

Obviously I hope to keep improving it as I go on, but I guess I'll just have to see how that'll work out, right?

I apologise for the long wait and hope that I can keep all of you entertained with at least a couple of pages each week, and perhaps more if I manage to build up a buffer at some point.

I think that's roughly all there's to say, peace out!

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG

YOU HAVE RETURNED! GLORIOUS!

BUT SERIOUSLY, DID EVERYTHING GET MUCH MORE DETAILED ALL OF A SUDDEN?

Art upgrade + panels = win. Burk's narration is just the cherry at the top.

Oooh, pixelicious. Very cool.

unfortunately, I have trouble reading the text now and the pixelisation hurts my head a bit :S
I hope I'll get used to it.

This is amazing pixel art!

I'm excited for the next comic and seeing the new sprites!

(It's true that the closeups took me a few seconds longer to process.)

Fantastic! Welcome back, welcome back!

@Avistew: But... The text is exactly the same as before.

And I don't understand how closeups could be harder to process...

hey, good to see you making pages again

two things that bother me about the new style: the close-ups of the characters like in the bottom-right panel on this page have a very noticeable mixed resolution. While you had an entirely mixed resolution style before, and the pixel backgrounds look great, the upscaled character looks somewhat bad or out of place when it has a pixel background of a higher resolution behind it.
The other thing that's more important is the text. It's also a resolution issue; I think it'd look much better and more coherent if the text and speech bubbles were at the same resolution as the backgrounds. As it is now, the text bubbles look like they were just thrown on as an afterthought, and I feel like they are ruining the integrity of an otherwise beautiful bunch of comic pages

otherwise, it's real beautiful stuff, as always. good work and good luck, man

Thanks
-Andy Wolff

I read everything today.

You made a fantastic job so far, and this page is the best of all.

Congrats.

Burk likes hearing himself talk, not necessarily a bad thing for him of course.
