It does seem like a glaring security hole. As it is right now it seems like anyone with illusion powers or a set of golden armor can basically walk right into any imperial base they please.

Unless all the guards are trained to perform cryptographic operations in their mind, I fail to see a reliable way of autenticiating royal guards without glaring security holes. I guess their security is actively hunting down and killing impostors.

I would suggest that the problem is less prodding the admin area while under the influence, and more allowing oneself to become sleep deprived in the first place, but if wishes were bishies...
