He's not the Hero the readers want,
but he's the Hero the readers deserve.
The pirate should be cateful, he has an ARC reactor.
The irony is killing me.
Go golden sword, go!
Buh, he's not behind the Pablo windscreen!
If I pull of the Mage Beam will you die?
It would be extremely painful..
You're a big guy
Oh come on, we're not that bad!
yknow as much as I love this scene and everything in it I cant help but feel this is only gonna go one way since Ariara was confident she still had enough power to steal the tower and Aristocrat can barely even use the destiny storm AND is still covered in blood
Oh @ why doth thou hate me so, ? why must thou torment me by twisting my wildest fantasies into cruelest nightmares ?
You might be Underestimating how much we like him though.
i was wondering where he went
I'd play along with dissapointment that he showed up but I'm just curious as to how he'll do a anything useful, or what that doodad on his chest is.
I don't know what we did wrong to deserve the Aristocrat but must have been something amazingly awful. God help us...
Uh oh... Did he think this through? Wait, of course he didn't!
How in the world are you keeping these daily updates going for so long? I love it!
ho plz everyone deservs the aristocrat
With a new accessory it seems.
What is that thing around his neck?
Maybe... It's the forbiden plot device?!
He keep the sword. XD
What is this on your neck dear Aristocrat?
He took the time and effort to sneak over there, and threw away any surprise factor, all for the sake of his dramatic reveal (unless he plans to jump attack a flying opponent with ranged abilities). Glorious.
Now what could he possibly do? He probably can't punch the pirate. He could throw the sword, and surprise her when she tries to control it because it resists magic. Or he could destroy the tower, his most reliable option to ruin Ariara's day, and he might just have the power to do so with his punches (the recoil from his stronger attacks on top of punching metal would probably mess him up pretty bad though, and the mage cannon is probably very important to the country's defense).
Well my bets are on throwing the sword.
But what could we possibly have done to deserve him?
To be fair, his ego might just crush them all.
Well, if he can land a hit he might actually be able to put her down. He's strong but he's used up a lot of strength today already.
His plan being to follow Burk's plan, he wants to be the one to defeat her -- and since he doesn't care about Ariara's hostage, and she's been weakened by all her previous fights this day, he has a chance of succeeding; if he connects with the General's anti-magic sword he'll deal damage that Ariara won't be able to just soak through spirit like the rest.
When you have great characters, sometimes the story just writes itself. Thank you for proving that this can happen when you have terrible characters too. :)
I wonder what would happen if the anti-magic blade were to be applied to the flying mage cannon... midflight.
@ Neo: You're talking about Pablo, aren't you? Because while we don't deserve Burk to save us, neither do we deserve The Aristocrat coming at us!
Maybe he thinks to disrupt the tower theft with the sword by touching the magic?
I'm not sure if that would work though, there has to be a limit to the amount of disruption gold causes. Also, Ariara's wearing a golden crown...
@Whisper of Sorrow
The big thing with regular gold is that it's not affected by "magic".
This means that e.g. gold coated weapons will be able to pierce a magic user's skin as if they had no spirit magic protecting them from harm.
It doesn't really disable or weaken magic users beyond that.
