Dancin' Danger.

'Those who can't fight, dance.'

- Ancient Burkian proverb.

I think think Goldman has as large a percentage of fans as he thinks

22697: Nathan400 - Tuesday, July 14 2020 - 1:32 AM

So . . .
The Hero Land Shaders are going to fetch more of their number, and they all dislike Goldman for his interference with the earlier match . . .

22698: burkfan - Tuesday, July 14 2020 - 1:36 AM

And suddenly Burk can get a lot of votes

22699: Sporf - Tuesday, July 14 2020 - 1:37 AM

I kinda want to know more about these Shaders. They're apparently not "heroes" but are still appear to be a part of the Heroland organization. They also don't seem to like "heroes". I think Burk is about to gain some fans.

to burk, when he cannot actually fight, but the opponent is trying, it is all fun and games.
it is also fun and games when he can fight.
really, it is when he really cannot fight at all that he gets bored.
burk senses say Goldman, a flashy fighter who calls all shots, simply cannot win on his own.

burk trying to win the popular vote

"I can't believe Burk's already got a sparring partner..." D=

Its hard not to like Worm a little for how honestly blunt he is :D

Also does indeed seem like Goldman has less of the audience on his side than expected.

22705: Zed - Tuesday, July 14 2020 - 5:15 AM

Friendly reminder that Burk specifically noted that there were ten shaders in the audience.

22706: Luminous Lead - Tuesday, July 14 2020 - 6:10 AM

Burk's copying Goldman's characteristic step motion.

22707: InfinitySum - Tuesday, July 14 2020 - 6:23 AM

Can't help but see that as a paraphrasing of Morpheus, "Stop *trying* to hit me and *hit* me!"
Love it.

@ Nathan400: Actually I think that the Hero Land Shaders may just collect people who don't like Goldman.

@ Sporf: I think that the Shaders are the Hero Association's "Grunt", or "Minion" level members. They want to join but don't show enough capability to stand up for themselves, and thus receive some basic training in exchange for semi-employment by the Hero Association. They may even have a whole lot of rules, like not using their own fighting style/magic while in their "Shader" Uniform, and things like that.

22709: Tor - Tuesday, July 14 2020 - 9:11 AM

Shaders are absolutely grunt level members of the association.

But the idea of just basic training or weird rules really dont make any sense.

If you got grunts you want them to be effective, so you do train those grunts to be as good as they absolutely can. Then you can always promote the top % to heroes.

Heck, we straight up got muscle guy encouraging his exhibition partner to become less predictable. That does not fit with them not allowed their own training style.

More likely for efficiency they are taught an all-round style.

22710: Tom - Tuesday, July 14 2020 - 9:20 AM

Burk is dancing through the danger, like Shantae :D

22711: UnknownID - Tuesday, July 14 2020 - 12:59 PM

Why not dance in the middle of a fight if you feel like it? :D

22712: Darius Drake - Tuesday, July 14 2020 - 6:53 PM

@ Tor: The rules are there so that they can be effective hero's when/if they eventually do so. Also, it's an exhibition match, having it be scripted makes more sense than for it not to be.

Having a set fighting style with an encouraged rotation of moves would mean that those with innovation could develop their own style out of the base, while also making it so that it's easier to surprise people who's expecting the "typical" order of operations out on the field.

In addition, being taught an "all-round fighting style" does not stop them from being required to utilize a specified fighting style while in uniform, particularly for things like exhibition matches. Being told to only use half to a quarter of the techniques you know, or only fight with a set series of strikes, would significantly limit what one can do while also allowing you to display some of your ability in fights, potentially even if the fight is 100% scripted.

The team should start beatboxing to provide music for the dance, so the Goldman can join in. It would then turn into a dance competition.
