@Brownie 24128: it's entirely possible Smile DID notice and is just pretending not to. "Wow, how rude!" works just as well as a comment on the choice of hand sign, and "I won't force you to pick anyone" is an unusual but technically valid way to respond to a choice, while being very different to "I see you don't want to make a choice" or something of that sort.
Put another way: it's possible Smile is going to respect Three's selection of Levin, while still preserving the secrecy of the hand signs. Why do this? Well, it's no stranger than a lot of the things Smile's been doing.

I do like Nullum's idea that Smile is just keeping the fact that Three and Tobi communicate through hand signs a secret, though. It's very plausible to me that he wouldn't want to give any contestants information that they couldn't have gotten on their own.

Ooooohhhh no. Drama incoming if Smile does understand - Levin has Foxy’s meds and we have no idea what happens to belongings when they vote to kill. It’s entirely possible that as long as he has those on his person she’s stuck trying to keep him alive through voting.
