Oh, it didn't actually die. Still retreated pretty quickly though.

That means anti-magic tricks don't work on them -- but some good ol' fashioned 12-gauge shells will work just fine!

What would happen if Noah entered mind of one such creature? Also... Cheryl creates life then, no?

I find it difficult to believe that every encountered nightmare is viscerally terrifying and extremely dangerous. Does everybody in the city need heaps of therapy? Where€™s the flesh and blood stacks of tax papers you somehow forgot to do and now the guards are coming? Where€™s the old flames laughing at you for not being good enough? Where€™s, uh€¦ I dunno, what are some other generic nightmares people have? Test you didn€™t study for?

Crazy idea: what if Burk was "created" in a method similar to this? That might explain why he's so powerful without using magic?

@Ladon For me, a nightmare is when the plot of my dream doesn't make any sense, and when I try to figure it out I get caught in a time loop. Or when I try to go somewhere in a dream and keep ending up at a place I don't want to go. ...Can Chernyl bring dimensional anomaly traps to life?
28670: Whim - Sunday, November 14 2021 - 9:54 AM
@Ladon Well, we've had confirmation from Noel that Chernyl's power is sentient. It might be picky about which nightmares it brings into the world!
28671: Leo - Sunday, November 14 2021 - 11:17 AM
@Whim Or possibly that the creatures created by the power can be sentient.

@Ladon
How about the nightmare of the teeth that fall out of one's mouth mid-sentence? ...also, wasn't it confirmed that it's only Chernyl's own nightmares that pop into reality?
