Wait, what did Three say? And to whom?

What happens with the exit doors of players who have exited the game? Are they locked just like with the players who have died or are they still usable by other players?

@Eight Three talks to itself a *lot* in the chapters where we can understand it. I don't think the habit goes away when we get "blur of static" instead of emoji.

So we have no idea what Three said, but it probably said it to itself, barring clear evidence to the contrary.

Infinite gang is going to be foxy gang now

I guess getting rid of Bindy's bandana really did save them.
Maybe the phantasm would have attacked a gang member.

@Tnoz Generally speaking, each player can only open their own door.

The only "players" left are Tobi, Three, Shalhia (Paladin), Ezra (Mr. Green), and Levin. I don't think we saw a player death notification for Housten, but given he's a now an omnicidal maniac, it's safe to assume he's out of consideration.

Of these, Levin can't open his own door anymore due to Foxy's sabotage, and Shalhia can't open her own door due to Jay-Jay getting killed and them having "soul-mate" status. Green can't leave until everyone else is gone or dead, unless he's able to leave with the last team (not sure whether this is the case). That could be a big deal if it turns out Housten needs to die first, unless he can get out through the employee exit Maria mentioned before dying, but the only person who knows about it is Shalhia, who is not in the best mental state at this point.

Up to 3 people can use an exit once its unlocked, and then it is unusable after that. Hence Levin's predicament. You can see that door now has a checkmark.

Also, this now clarifies the fact that them hiding their secret is kind of a problem. I don't remember if they ever even shared their secrets. This also confirms nobody else has exited properly yet.

The door seems locked. If they have espaped or they are dead.... place your bets

I was feeling pretty confident after the last couple comics that they were gonna make it, which I guess puts me in the optimistic minority. Whatever was foreshadowed, it may be coming for someone else.

@Abbie, I think it was Three who really made the difference here. Three guided Bindy to find Indu, protected Indu from the ghoul, and showed them to the exit. If Indu had met Bindy under the original conditions, or Three had not taken pity on Indu, maybe things would have gone very differently. Heck, even Levin might have saved their lives here.

Or it's still gonna happen sometime in the future. But that feels a bit lame. I really didn't want them to die here, so I'm happy.

also I hate to be that girl, but the optics of refusing to use a trans girl's actual non-western name feel weird to me. I vote we stop doing that.

Could be a meat grinder could just be an express elevator to hell. Heck could be just a chamber for the head bombs to go kaboom to keep clean up to a minimum or a chamber where the bilbo baggins song is played on repeat till they go insane.

Always the option they actually get out alive with winnings but that'd be seen as almost happy ending. Do we have happy endings around here?

Actually, on review, I could be wrong about Shalhia and the exit door. Each player has a specific card that gets them out, but the door colors don't line up with the player colors, only the cards. So the blue door being locked doesn't necessarily mean Shalhia can't exit. Shalhia's cat card is red, the door for which is still available. Tobi's fish card is hard pink, which is available. The yellow door with the lock on it is most likely Ezra's. But Shalhia being able to use her door could still depend on whether or not she is still considered an active "player" after Jay-Jay died.

@Tnoz Foxy's and Bindy's exit doors, like all other personal exit doors, can only be opened by "that person" with "their own card" and "their own 10 mil". As a result, they're functionally locked. If Foxy/Bindy somehow wind up back in the mines while the game is still running, the door will probably be usable for them, but that seems unlikely.

I don't know if they'll be marked as locked, however.

In before Foxy and Shalhia switch deaths. Foxy gets sniped ten feet from the exit, and Shalhia gets her face melted by black water.

Levin’s escape options are very narrow right now - if he still has any.

- Jay (Mr. Yellow) no announcement yet
- Ezra (Mr. Green) has to leave alone / last

3 Hostile + 2 Corrupted Door Owners
- Tobi & 3 (likely) WON’T help him
- Shalia’s wants him DEAD
- Huesten & Infinite CAN’T help him

The only one he could have escaped with (by threat) was Bindy. But Indu (Foxy), someone hostile to him, shot that down with his own escape card.

If they had used their own doors then whatever - but they used his. Methinks Levin is screwed now~

@Lurker Although Shalhia shared a door, so with her partner dead, hers might be unusable even if she's still alive. But she's aiming to via the secret host exit anyway so it's moot.

@Saturine Two things change Levin's situation at the moment: 1. He has a reason to cooperate with others now and 2. His cybernetic arm has been exposed and damaged.

Why does that matter? Recall that Tobi's friend lost an arm shortly before she entered the temple in Rauel. Tobi would have an interest in getting her hands on that tech (she was vocal about it when it came up in the trivia round), which Levin would likely know where to find, and/or studying it herself to be able to replicate it. As for Levin, he might actually need Tobi to get his arm fixed relatively cheaply.

Neither of them realize it yet, but I think Tobi is going to be the one to bail out Levin in the end (if begrudgingly). And I hate to say it, but depending how hard the repairs are, he may end up joining the party.
