Honestly science has been a double edged sword since it's conception, for every succesful experiment there must be always a failed attempt

In fact failed experiments often generate as much useful data as successful ones. They just don't get any credit.
Of course when a science experiment fails you just alter your hypothesis with the new data and try again. When a magic science experiment fails you hope you didn't just let an extradimensional horror into the world.
