49797: Some guy - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 7:00 AM
He's going to lose it somewhere, isn't he?
49798: Mallory - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 7:00 AM
...
Why did they choose a collar, out of all things, to put on children?
49799: Whispers of Sorrow - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 7:40 AM
Oh dear. Is this something he said, or is everyone getting one? What does it even do other than kill you if you take it off?
49800: Tom - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 8:11 AM
Welcome to hell, Noah. Make sure to smile and nod to your Supreme Leader.
49801: Whispers of Sorrow - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 8:40 AM
@Tom: But who is the Supreme Leader? The JSP are acting like they're in charge, but are they? Is this something the JSP even knew about?
49802: Straightbackward - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 8:46 AM
@Mallory I presume that a bracelet threatening to remove your hand or a ring to remove a finger isn't as effective as a "beheading necklace".
Though I agree, on principle, they could've gone for a sash, would look more elegant IMHO; I believe torso removal is as effective as head removal in this world.
Anyway. Am I the only one who's first thought on the matter had been: Damn, hopefully that's waterproof; surely it would be a hassle to shower with that on their necks.
49803: oskarloko - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 8:58 AM
Movie: wedlock ('Peligrosamente unidos in spain)
49804: Robot! - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 9:10 AM
I wonder, if everyone else on the team is getting the same treatment, how Alex is going to react to their new robot friend.
49805: Whispers of Sorrow - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 9:20 AM
So if Windows *did* get done in... the Nightmares he imprisoned would be free, right?
49806: Ryulin - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 9:22 AM
When it became apparent that the JSP of all people are leading the project, my expectations were already quite low. Entering 1984 territory so fast is still a bit surprising.
That being said, having a kill and/or tracking-device, is an effective way to control your future little magic-supersoldiers. Rutheless and definitely undercuting loyality but very reliable.
49807: Ghost - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 9:29 AM
Ahhhh yes head sticking a bomb collar around the necks of future child super soldiers who are already trapped on a giant fortress with no real means of escape. Picking a collar I'm hoping they've got a method of expanding it considering the age of most, plus lots of mops and a bucket on standby even if it only severs the head still looking at a a tiny bit of a mess.
Ofc it could be just an emergency way of dealing with students who starting dreaming horrors but its more likely a very short sighted method of control.
49808: Katieclysm - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 10:30 AM
Welcome to the life of a Sanctioned Psyker.
49809: Saiko - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 11:48 AM
It can be useful. I saw a dog with similar collar recently. During night it was looking for a place in the bushes next to a pavement where it could leave its dog-mine. Before leaving the mine it examined the place using a light emitting collar.
So in case the lights go out, Noah will be able to use toilet.
49810: Saturine - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 2:44 PM
@Mallory & @Straightbackward
Threatening & don’t forget dehumanizing! After all, can’t have the tools of the empire thinking they’re people….
They might start “irresponsibly” using their powers to defend themselves / escape.
Dystopian horror show 10/10 spine chilling!
49811: Luminous Lead - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 2:50 PM
Ah, I THOUGHT the Barnrose project was being significantly more kid-friendly than the Veda project. Turns out they're just using more carrot, with the same amount of stick.
49812: Datren - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 3:19 PM
Do you want Ghouls? Because this is how you get Ghouls
49813: nanashi - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 10:58 AM
ah, should've sided with Malhart after all, I guess...
49814: Narzen - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 9:37 PM
Honestly, not the most surprising turn of events. Kind of surprised we haven't had something like a contingency collar before
49815: A_voice_from_the_shadows - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 3:13 PM
I'm dure it will also be a controlling device.
*Not being at the right time where you are ordered to be -> Boom!
*Exploring areas which are offlimit for you -> Boom!
And so on.
It is good that Noah can use his spirit to explore.
49816: TaranAlvein - Sunday, February 8 2026 - 12:23 AM
So, Felix should be able to deal with this whenever they need, right? The real question is, will he be smart enough to not do so right away?
49817: Silver - Sunday, February 8 2026 - 1:24 AM
Looking forward to finding out how the empire got its hands on this thing that can go through walls. I was under the impression that they didn't have this kind of technology(?) available.
Then again that ship they're on is already absurd. If the pirate of the storm got her hand on this mountain of metal it would get ugly.
49818: beep - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 7:46 PM
putting collars on children is not a good look for the jsp
49819: Cromire - Saturday, February 7 2026 - 7:53 PM
Ah, I see...
Noah loudly implied that he has way of exploring the ship undetected.
So Robot showed up to put tracking/exploding collar around his neck.
49820: oskarloko - Sunday, February 8 2026 - 5:25 AM
That's how you inspire respect and loyalty, with death-trap collars on your magical students.
And like they couldn't have any ability to remove or deactivate them...
He's going to lose it somewhere, isn't he?
