Klaasen:
"Foreign"...? Silly Shalhia, that was our project. :)

I like the dramatic lighting on Klaassen's face in panels 2 and 3.
But, yeah, sorry, Shalhia, the hell you just went through is probably a lot less "foreign" than you want it to be...

She may be wrong about the foreign part but that might actually save her life. If its domestic and your investigation says its domestic, the powers that be must eliminate you to protect themselves. If its domestic and your investigation says its foreign they might keep you around to act as cover.

Still keeping that right hand out of sight. Feels like an extremely big red flag I'd have thought for anyone in law enforcement or the armed forces especially if they knew they where meant to die in this spot.

Very much in keeping with strategies Shalhia has previously employed -- she charges forward, in this case verbally. Despite the risk that may be posited from being open, I don't think she's actually risking much. She's not turning her back on Klaassen, and can probably outdraw a gun with some sort of disgusting flesh shield.
I doubt Klaassen has much in the way of tricks up his sleeve because in the alternate future he shot her in the back. Besides, a hidden magic power won't do much given Shalhia's Esper abilities and training, we've recently seen her manage mechanical limbs, and Klaassen's visible disgust at the pod soldiers (https://www.neorice.com/hoh_tobi_850) suggest that the GO science division has not granted him anything. The only cards he has to play are treachery and chain of command, which fare poorly against forewarning and principles.
