My thoughts exactly, it is the AI thing all over again.
Curious about when was this strip planned and all, since it seems so current, mostly by accident, I imagine :P

Makes sense that Klaassen would say that Shalhia is "projecting"... I mean, considering that his job is to kill people, he is pretty much a sophisticated weapon himself. And, going by what we've seen of him, it's not like his own personality is human-like enough for him to be able to project himself unto other beings and arrive at anything even resembling Shalhia's conclusions about Three.

But considering how the ghoul spoke to Three in pages 4086 to 4088, Three is not artificial intelligence in that sense, but several beings twisted into that shape.
I wonder if Klaassen is just unaware of Threes true nature or lying to shalhia to reduce her sympathy for Three.

All the more reason to be nice to them. Future overlords and all that.

I hadn't considered the projection line of thought relating to Three. But he did engage in problem solving, severing his own arm to win a game for example. He also worked out which symbol Smile was using for Tobi by process of elimination. Still. Klaassen may be right.
Regardless, wouldn't it have been sensible for Shalhia to have initiated this conversation somewhere else? As in, somewhere that doesn't look exactly like the place she's destined to be shot in the head? There are some rocks just a few feet away!

Once upon a time, I thought that 3 was the Emporio Garrimon, experimented on.

#3 is the comic's equivalent of ChatGPT, confirmed.

Oh dear, I had a thought. 3 is behind her. What if he has some sort of kill code that Klaassen knows...

Possible. She also might already have a kill switch in her head. We know paladins can't use their powers on normal people or the cells erupt inside of them. We don't know if that deterant can be activated remotely.

Klaassen takes Three.
Shalia takes King.
Everybody's fine.
... of course, not happening
