If you told me that they're escapees from the Nightmare, I'd believe you.

What a lovely mental image, you know it's good when just the description makes your skin crawl, ha ha. ha...

In Neo's defense, Revenants look like Halloween Special sidequest enemies (hideous but still in tune with spooky scary monster mash stuff) while the Haven arc stuff is actual grotesque nightmares.

So by Evyle's logic, the Revenants couldn't possibly have the victim's mind.
@Neorice - After the Haven arc, I don't want to know what kind of nightmares you have.

I mean...Hookhands is kinda cute there. He's just happy to be here and has a lot of energy for bein' happy anywhere he goes. Definitely balances out Glumface-McGee. I could see them being the Burke & Pablo of the Dark Continent, and Pablo is always adorable.
Problem is what he does with all that energy, but what's a little organ harvesting between friends?

"nearly 0%" so in other words some people have returned.

The Dark Continent doesn't deserve such a terrible name. They are simply misunderstood.
They should be called the Human-Lego continent, where everyone want to play with you and you are always allowed to share and show what you have inside !

I mean hooky was polite and well mannered even if the locals had trouble with his culture, he looked so dashing when he did that pose!

With regard to Evyle's objection: who says they DIDN'T die? They are called revenants, after all...

@doombybbr Yeah, there's a hero that returned, I forget the page.
*Gasps*, a Beastman drop! I don't know if in Burk's story they were talked about before, but this confirms Beastmen are a part of the world here, so that links the worlds better and cancels out theories of the stories taking place in totally different places in time.
As for the whole Revenant thing, I suspect something was injected/infused into them to help them survive such terrible mutilation, possibly black crystal juice?
I thought they were cute too....

Oh, so like necromancer experiments from dwarf fortress.
imagine what would happen if Noah unleashed the nightmares on the entire dark continent
