Invaluable tool.

Y'know what Veda? Fair enough.

I mean, she's not wrong, but...

*He* probably cares. You know, because of his personality.

I've got the impression that the last sentence was more about Veda herself than Noah =) Really great character... well... both of them!

I'll take immunity through usefulness.

it seems like Veda is describing herself more than Noah in that last panel

I think Veda might've clued me in on how Eloy can still be a living, breathing person holding a position within one of the Empire's deadliest agencies... but, yes, Veda may very well be talking about herself there, too.

Uh, I heard something like that in company management EXCEPT that you have to get rid of people who seem to be invaluable. (Blackmailing company by holding key processes back, or causing logistical issues when sick and can't work, etc.)

She has a point, though. In those circumstances it seems to be a pretty good bet, as they seem to be pretty goal oriented when evaluating efficiency.

I still don't like her, though.

Oh boi, Veda is talking about herself in the last panel.

Just wtf does she offer that is invaluable?

Oh man, I just stumbled across that trope today. "Some characters have pervasive or extremely noticeable personality quirks, but remain steadily employed because they are just that good at what they do."

@random People who are positioned so certain things absolutely have to route through them, you have to get rid of. People who are just better at their jobs than everyone else, you have to NOT get rid of.

@Tom: They need the Royal guards to reach the top shelf, but only Veda can reach into the tall shelving dimension to reach the secret Topmost Shelf.
