Meaaaaahahahahhaha, well played Neo xD
So, this is the picture in my mind:
Big-ass huge non-aligned and for-profit entity sells a product with expiry date. Planned obsolescence. It is enforced through *system updates*.
When the user blocks the updates, the product (giant death robot or whatever) stops working properly. So such that only a big group of techies can make it work. Make me guess, these individuals gonna get sued for not playing to the tune.
On top of that, Magilante remote-controls the product that, by severing the link, is rendered unusable so they sell both the husk AND the service to make it usable, and there is data travelling between the nodes even if only the control data. Tell me more, does Magilante have _legitimate interest_ in gathering usage data and user data?
I might be biased yeah...

Ah yes, biological cloud computing.

I really don't know why you want anyone to have unfettered access to a war machine so badly

It's hard to feel sorry for him when the product he's trying to repair and utilise is "combat robots", despite my hatred of planned obsolescence

Clearly they just need to figure out where to plug in the ps2 controller. That'll do it.

It appears Tobi's fields are empty of that most precious of objects to give.

Shame you're not interested, Tobi, because the Pres is gonna make you help out if you want info on going home :D

So they disconnect the brain and use the input (update) port to send signals to the the now brainless shell. Imagine how complicated something like balance becomes without your brain handling most of the calculating. You would have to manually adjust large numbers of muscle groups on the fly to keep your center of mass upright.
It would be near impossible without creating a replacement brain of some sort. Since they don't have the tech to do that it sounds like they want Tobi to somehow make the old brains workable.

...of course, Magilante's actions are a lot more legitimate than Microsoft's, due to it being an independent nation with a massive technological advantage over the rest of the world, and no part of this being a "rug pull"; it's enforcing usage restrictions on its robots which have been in place for as long as these robots have been available.

If Captain America could punch nazis back in the 1940s, then Tobi and Nero can talk about the corruption present in the tech industry and how fucked up the usage of military drones is.

Feel like you're telling Tobi way too much. If I was going to tell a neutral party about my top-secret weapons development I would definitely not *also* tell them about all of the weaknesses and restrictions it has.

Y'all ever heard of the need-to-know principle?
