On the train to Livarall.

And so we proceed on to the next arc, let's go!

Also yeah I notice the typo, that's meant to say Livarall. I'll fix it once home.

49494: Sloss - Tuesday, January 13 2026 - 2:24 AM

Piper be cranky

49495: MaZe - Tuesday, January 13 2026 - 2:56 AM

Train arc! They better stay here for a year.

49496: oskarloko - Tuesday, January 13 2026 - 4:13 AM

Well, they are on track once again...

49497: Tom - Tuesday, January 13 2026 - 4:20 AM

Oh boi, that was QUICK.

49498: Mars - Monday, January 12 2026 - 10:23 PM

Even the train is patched up omg. I can't believe Pablo was right about how shitty that place is.

Just had a thought re: the dialog on the previous page, posting it here so people will see it. What if the "untethered" people Zadkiel refers to are the same as the "unbound" people Cryoarmada (Infinite's spirit of Pandemonium) refers to here: https://www.neorice.com/hoh_tobi_1901

Nice to see Piper indulging in one of her favourite pastimes, seething with barely controlled rage.

49503: TaranAlvein - Tuesday, January 13 2026 - 12:24 PM

@Zev: It seems as good a guess as any. In fact, I'd go so far as to see that it seems downright reasonable.

49504: UnknownID - Tuesday, January 13 2026 - 12:54 PM

Looks like Piper is in a bad mood... o.o

49505: Woodchuck - Tuesday, January 13 2026 - 1:12 PM

@Zev I think Cryoarmada was referring to the fact that it could not help Tobi because it was "bound" to Infinite and thus was under his control. I think Cryo was directing Tobi to find Pandemonium spirits that are not bound to magic users (maybe like the Council of Vermin?).

49506: someone - Tuesday, January 13 2026 - 2:26 PM

Pretty sure Pablo meant they'd likely be able to reach Livarall before dawn.

49507: Straightbackward - Tuesday, January 13 2026 - 2:37 PM

@Zev Nice recall. I always assumed that Cryo meant "ghouls". That seems to fit with Magic users becoming Ghouls after death, as in the Panda spirit taking control of the corpse.
Ghouls being undead in folklore is fitting.

One thing that keeps bothering me, is that Burk wasn't really speaking gibberish? We the readers are biased from following different perspectives and getting lots of info the characters don't, but I'm still surprised that everyone here is just dismissing what happened as nonsense. It was clearly following some sort of logic, no matter how obscure it seemed!

Either there's something wacky and magical going on that keeps people from paying too much attention to certain ideas... or everyone in this train did come to some theory and is pretending that the conversation didn't really matter to avoid tipping off the others?

49510: Shalmon - Wednesday, January 14 2026 - 2:01 AM

Is Burk testing inertia on a train?

(I also wonder why "4" is not a valid answer to the "What comes next" question

49512: someone - Wednesday, January 14 2026 - 8:45 AM

@Shalmon:
1, 2, 3 is the linear progression; 1, 2, 5 is a Monty Python joke; but good point that the geometric progression 1, 2, 4 should also be valid.
