I'll be honest, I rarely thought about Felix in the years since we saw him last.

No contingencies on these ragamuffins I notice. I mean, I doubt they'd work on Felix given his power, but still...

So... I'll be very surprised if the known free magic users (Alex and Fuuka) are part of the standard uniform mob. But who else stands out? Maybe Cherry? She's the best of the spirit users (in Window's class) and good at spirit sense. Saved the other sprogs from a nightmare maths teacher too.

This does seem to indicate that Jamal isn't Hufflepuff btw. He obviously has the cape so he won't be mistaken for any Gaston, Hevel or Felix.

And is it just me or does Gaston look less than pleased?

That said, i really like that noah greeted felix with a smile. if the girl in green saw that she would ask where is noah's usual lack of tact.

Actually, I think they all have those collars on, but the art style makes it hard to discern. The background characters Noah and co are standing in front of right now looked like they had them last page if you zoom in, and Jamals sprite does not show it even though we already know he has one.

So, the bulk of them got no special uniform colors, no little cape, and no neckexploder.

Means Noah and others will belong to specialized units that are deemed more potentially dangerous than the rest.

While Gaston and Felix aren't.

I think they underestimate Felix; if he was a bit smarter (more observant and more cautious, mostly), his power could be very dangerous.

I'm pretty sure that it's impossible to verify the presence or absense of the collar contingencies when facing away from the fourth wall, but both Felix's and Gaz' throats are clearly visible on this panel, which seems like confirmation of (current) absence.

On the other hand, if you only have so many bots, you'd do the highest priority targets first. So they might not be staying uncollared for long?

I *am* glad that Felix hasn't been put to death mind.

I'd expect the students with uniforms matching the red/green/cape uniforms have contingencies (I count at least two, one each for Jamal and Mr Kimberly).

@nomi3: Gaston seemed happier at the sight of the JSP. That is the face of a man who knows he's arrow/magic fodder. Still, at least he reacted to their presence, Hevel's flat out ignoring them.

I checked an old page and his spirit magic color is yellow, so I’m choosing to believe he is making those stars around him and they’re visible to everyone else. Like that’s a skill he learned instead of something theoretically more important.

@Brownie24128 What?? It's clearly visible on ALL of them. That's what the blue square with the red outline indicates. There's none with the blue uniforms.

@ Brownie: Gazz, at least, doesn't have the big-glowing ball that indicates the explosive-collar, though it could have conceivably been hidden behind the red... shirt or neckerchief. Felix, meanwhile, could be hiding it with his head.

That said, as you did say there are PLENTY of background characters characters who could be seen wearing said collar on the last page, even if we were only seeing them from the back.

I feel its not apparent just how much 'a slight smile towards Felix' is an evolution/progress of Noah's character.

Page0 Noah had his heart completely closed to others. Now, after going through so much, he is finally beginning to change...
