Makes sense most of the crew would be robots; a ship this size would need tens of thousands of workers to maintain and operate. (For a point of reference, a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier has a crew of about 3500, not counting the air wing. The Arc is much, much, much larger than anything ever built IRL.)
And keeping the Arc a secret would be difficult with tens of thousands of people on board it.
