Yeah, no, I've decided that I don't like this bird person very much. Even if they are telling the truth, that Held following her dreams and ambitions and fulfilling that promise will lead her to meeting Valiant again -- and not even in a metaphorical sense, this still feels way too manipulative... like this bird person only reveals any of this because it serves their own agenda...

@oskarloko Also known as Wally in England, where he originated. I think it's just America that changed his name for some reason. But the TV series originated in America, and the TV series invented his rival Odlaw, and when they localized the series to England they changed Waldo back to Wally, but left Odlaw, so his name makes no sense. Localization name changes are weird, and sometimes hilarious.

Hope is a funny thing. In our modern cultural view its considered mostly positive. Look past a rotten today for a better tomorrow. In older cultures that wasn't always the case. It was seen more as failing to come to terms with your today for a tomorrow that may never exist.
Since some of the spirits we have encountered seem to have insight into the future effects of actions taken by people its likely that this one needs Held to be active for some reason.

I wonder if this would be considered a dick move in this bird-person's culture or not.
Ahhh the Wally Waldo debate its never been actually said why, theories run that it was due to the name of someone at the company through to because it was the name of someone associated with something horrible. The other one I heard was because wally is sometimes used as a mild, jokey insult here in the UK and thats why... which makes no damned sense as it was changed in the states where they don't use it at all so /shrug
