Is this "everyone" in the room right now?
49061: Tom - Thursday, December 18 2025 - 4:24 AM
Can someone remind me if there are any impediments for Shalhia to one-shot this ass into oblivion?
49062: Whispers of Sorrow - Thursday, December 18 2025 - 5:20 AM
@Tor: Yes, that seemed like destiny waiting to happen before he even showed up. On the other hand, what reason would he have to shoot her once they'd left the game?
@Tom: Leaving aside the floor colour situation? Yes, he's a cyborg, extremely fast, extremely dangerous and he may well kill her if she tried it.
@Kabarakh: No, Three is missing, as is the whistle blower. Xzaclock the ghoul is nowhere to be seen. And any members of the undead that may or may not be floating around(Maria?) are clearly floating elsewhere at present. Or are you suggesting that they may not be alone?
49063: someone - Thursday, December 18 2025 - 5:24 AM
@Tom: there's no impediment as long as she does not use her symbiotic cells to kill him. Like when she snapped that guy's neck back on page 996.
She's also free to use her cells to non-lethally control and restrain other people; for example carrying Maria before, and now Tobi, in that gross egg thing.

If the punishment for killing other players is automated, killing Levin will trip it and blow her brain out because Levin is not standing on a purple floor.
If it requires manual activation via a SMILE employee, she'd probably be fine, because I imagine those guys have bigger things to worry about right now. Anything non-lethal should not be a problem either.

I don't think "water under the bridge" means what you think it means, Levin. You see, whether what you did is "water under the bridge" or not is not up to you, it's up to the people you were endangering or outright trying to kill. And, were it up to me, then water would not be flowing under that bridge; the bridge would be burned... But then, I'm not a paladin. Let's see what fate Shalia's sense of decency and justice has in store for *squints eyes* "everyone's favourite character"... I think I almost threw up a little bit...

Oh good, I hadn't had my dose of smarmy, smug, obnoxious snake today yet.

A moment of sympathy for Levin: At this point, his top priority is escape. Levin is honestly afraid, and he already got rejected from one escape pod purely for the enemies he's made.
He is probably going to kill Shalhia. So, you know, fuck him. But in this moment, he is definitely relieved to see the one person principled enough to possibly care if he lives or dies.
I'd actually be interested in seeing how Levin handles this extended period of dependence. In a different story, perhaps he would have the chance to really process it and process that all his cynicism and cruelty only put him in worse danger in the end.
Alas, this story has no time for you, Levin. There are worse things about than you.
