Honestly Noah is definitely a badass for getting through all THAT with his wits relatively intact, and managing to contribute somewhat even before his unique power. He's not an action movie protagonist or anything but he's still more badass than most I imagine.

@ Tor: I have long held the belief that the characters we follow fit Burk's Plan. Burk is, of course, Burk. Tobi is The Girl. Held is The Mage. Three MIGHT be The Robot. And Noah, of course, is The Cool Guy.
Noah's The Cool Guy because his core personality trait can be described as "apathetic". I would have used "blasé", but that's apparently specifically for being too used to something. Which means I can say that most people are blasé about the beauty of a blue sky.
