If Hinata wasn't lying, she's probably got her target's code already. She might've been lying to give off an impression to the class, ofc, but as mentioned: Espionage specialists.

So they can give it to a teacher, does that include him?. Also little ms phone addict was she just bluffing or is the phone connected some how with her power, it could be some obscure bit of tech her family got for her and thats why the staff missed it but not buying it.
