Student status

Final predictions of what every uniform means! I know you all got guesses.

oh god the word 'House' was even used here

cant wait for that one teacher to give negative five thousand points to Noah's house for being existential

52339: someone - Friday, September 11 2026 - 7:22 AM

As the protagonist, Noah is obviously in House Gryffindor... Oh, sorry.

All blue (Gazz, Hevel, Felix, most other): regular magic troops, no specialty.

Blue beret but with white uniform: regular magic troops, but from the nobility so they've got a special uniform so they can still feel special despite being perfectly unremarkably regular.

All green (Mabel, Kimberly). Hard to say. Mabel's got lightning power and Kimberly's got slime power, so perhaps some utility/engineering/sapping thing?

All purple (Jamal, Natalie). My guess would be something defense oriented. Jamal can create time bubbles to trap magic effects, and Natalie's power isn't very clear but it's apparently protective.

Black berets w/ red shirts (Noah, Cillia): we already know it's espionage.

Red beret (Aude): probably shock troops. If the purple are defense-focused, I'll guess the red are offense-focused. Because it's Aude and if she's not in the class for kicking people, she's gonna kick whoever put her in the wrong class for her.

White beret with red plume: no idea, I don't think we've met that character before (girl on last panel of hoh_4654) but just from the look I'm gonna guess officer or something. You do need people to coordinate the various troops after all.

This surprises me given the missing students. Also, there are seven houses, this too surprises me.

Finally. Noah The Radar "Windows", hero of Haven gets the high status and recognition he always wanted and deserved.

Anyway, here's my predictions:
Blue = Basic infantry
Red = Anti-personnel
Green = Advanced infantry
Purple = Anti-magic
Black = Espionage/Infiltration
White = Healers (though I like the idea of them being free magic users like Sloss suggested the other day. The feather is very fancy.)

"First of all, we of course have House Slytherin. Second, we've got House Slytherin. Third, there is House Slytherin. And last but not least we must not forget House Slytherin... and also Hufflepuff because they 'accept everyone' -- so they're kinda like a liberal House Slytherin."

(Fun fact: All houses in Hogwarts were actually bad. This is because morality in the Potterverse is based on J.K.K.K. Rowling's horrid worldviews. For a more thorough tearing-Joanne-a-second-asshole, I recommend checking out Shaun, Ember Green, Queen Coke Francis, and Josh Everton for the coup de grace.)

Felix’s uniform: Grunts
Green: strong defensive magic
White uniform similar to Felix’s: officer corps
Black: we already know this
Purple: anti magic division
Red: Highly destructive powers

@noname - "All of them"? Really? Even the ones whose core identities are traits like honor and wisdom? Even ambition isn't bad, so long as it is tempered with compassion. Ambition is the reason we have inventors and artists. And what's wrong with tolerance, which Hufflepuff espouses?

There's a lot to criticize about J.K. Rowling, but let's not stretch ourselves too hard here.

Class exposition by a mentor figure? I'M GAME.

52346: Whispers of Sorrow - Friday, September 11 2026 - 9:55 PM

Class guesses...:

Blue Uniform: Felix/Gaston: Basic magic soldiers, bullet sponges, arrow fodder etc.
Green uniform: Offensive magic, heavy fighters.
Purple uniform (short capes (as modelled by the imperious looking princess)), espers among others: Defensive/counter magic.
Black Beret/Window's division: Already revealed to be the secretive types (is that irony? I'll send in some miners).
Red Beret/Aude's Division: Well Aude has healing powers of some description. This could be tanks, that is to say, those who can shrug off appalling injuries, or it could be healing (with Aude being the most violent medic in whateveritistheempireworshipsdom).
White Uniform/blue cap: Could be officers, if officers tend to be drawn from the nobility, that probably wouldn't change for the magic army. Could be a better class of spirit users mind, ones with potential (now *that* would get Gaston's goat).
White Feather Uniform: I'm going to take a guess and say free magic users and similar are here. I mean, if not here, where?

52347: Whispers of Sorrow - Friday, September 11 2026 - 9:55 PM

If I had to guess status... well I'd say the free magic users are at the top (with the girl with a feather in her cap being a strong candidate for this), the blue troopers are clearly at the bottom (they're the sort of guys the hero randomly encounters in groups of three or four). But for the rest, I note that some have what could be nco rank indicators on their sleeves, while the cape wearers could be more senior (with Aude and the feather girl having the longest) and the one feather girl being at the top, even if not a free magic user.

So based on the rank insignia that'd be (in order of presumed seniority):

Blue Uniform: Basic infantry.
White Uniform: Advanced infantry? They do have epaulets mind.
Green Uniform/Black Beret: Heavy hitters/spies: NCOs.
Purple Uniform: Defensive/Disrupters: Lowest officers (note: Their cap decoration is the same as green/black crowd).
Red Beret: Healing/shield types? Officer (Same cap decoration as the green/black/purple triumvirate, but a *very* long cape).
White Feather: Suspected Free magic user, highest status class (Feather, unique cap markings and a *very* long cape).
