Now I know Neorice has read that comic, he actually wrote a series of reviews/critiques of its story arcs in a forum thread on the giantitp forums. Here, starts with post 187 in the thread:

But having said that, and for reasons that should become blatant if you do read the linked thread, I doubt Neo will want to make overt references and homages to that comic in HOH.

Hard to tell for sure, but it looks like Evyle's missing arm is back in this realm. That's neat.

Vonesperda doesn't seem the type to have thought about her actions at all. Honestly, I was expecting it to be a battle-of-the-minds, even if Evyle didn't specifically know how to deal with that. And Evyle's an Esper who deals with Spirits on a regular basis. Of COURSE she has trained that ability.

I wonder what Zalander has to say about this.

I'll always remember that part of the comic, both because it was a really badass moment, but also because I always get a kick out of Donovan suggesting a tax audit to exorcise Karnak.
